Sound of Music Reviews

With a little over week and just eleven shows left I'm running out of time to post all the glowing reviews of 'The Sound of Music' at Regents Parks Open Air Theatre before it closes on September 14th.

I've therefore decided to post links to all the reviews I hadn't yet included on the blog so as you can read just how impressed the critics were with this incredible production and of course Faye's wonderful performances as Liesl.

And here are just a few of the comments made about Faye's sensational performances as eldest child Liesl:

THE STAGE
As always, my education hat never far away, it was the achievements of the children – six of them in each performance which interested me particularly. The eldest, Liesl, is played by the adult and excellent, Faye Brookes.

AMATEUR STAGE MAGAZINE
As with most productions of the show, the lynch pins of the show are the children and these young actors - led by Faye Brookes - were the best I’ve seen.

OFFICIAL LONDON THEATRE
Faye Brookes is perfectly cast as the pretty Liesl whose teenage romance takes a dramatic turn against the changing political landscape.

THE STAGE
Other stand-outs include Caroline Keiff and Michael Matus as the opportunistic Elsa and Max respectively, and of course the rotating teams of von Trapp children, led by the superb Faye Brookes as Liesl.

DAILY EXPRESS
Faye Brookes' Liesl is less naive and more knowing than some and adds a welcome sparkiness into Sixteen Going On Seventeen.

MAIL ONLINE
Faye Brookes, as the eldest, Liesl, leads by example: her blushing innocence cut with a streak of teenage bloody mindedness.

Obviously Faye has missed a number of shows recently due to her back injury but she tweeted yesterday that her physio gave her the all clear to get back to the gym which should hopefully mean a return to the stage very soon.

Nine of the remaining eleven shows are now completely sold out and there are just a handful of tickets left for the show on Monday 9th September and the matinee on Thursday 12th. If you want to go I suggest you book right now.
