Fates Academy!
Fates Academy, based at University Technical College (UTC) at MediaCityUK will teach three age groups - five to eight-year-olds, nine to 12-year-olds and 13 to 18-year-olds every Tuesday from 4.30pm to 7.30pm
The new academy will be offering young talent a place to learn – something she didn’t have herself growing up, Up North.
“There was nothing like this drama school around when I was that age and setting this up is a dream of mine. And working so close by makes it easier to bring people from Corrie in to do masterclasses.
“I would love my co-stars to come in and it’s definitely something we can look at doing.
“I hope that we can inspire the next generation of Coronation Street stars.”
He said: “I already have three performing arts schools in Braford, Huddersfield and Milton Keynes and with Faye doing so well in Corrie and being on TV every night, we though that between us we could really bring a lot of experience to kids who want to perform.
“We have both worked in the industry for years and it’s perfect to open at MediaCity which is literally a stone’s throw from the Coronation Street studios.
“Faye only works two minutes away and will probably be there most weeks and I will be there when I can.”

I'd like to wish them luck for their new venture but I have no doubts it will be a massive success, with Faye and Gareth at the helm how could it not.

Mirror Ball Duet With Gareth!
Faye teamed up with her beau Gareth Gates to perform this beautiful rendition of Swept Away from the hit American show Nashville for the 2017 Mirror Ball fundraiser at The Lowry Hotel.
If you haven't had chance to hear Faye sing before prepare to be blown away. She really does have the most breathtaking voice.

OK! Magazine Interview

GARETH Gates has been dating girlfriend Faye Brookes since 2012, after they met while starring in Legally Blonde.
The talented duo have been forced to have a long-distance romance, as the 29 year old has a starring role on Coronation Street, while the Pop Idol singer is on tour with Footloose.
But the pair opened up about their relationship, and revealed a shock confession.
Speaking exclusively to OK! Magazine, they explained their romance is seriously intense.
"Our relationship's always fiery because there's so much love there and so much passion," the soap star explained.
"And because we have limited time with each other each week, there's an added pressure as we want it to be perfect.
"When you love each other so much, things get heightened. It's amazing."
"We're both quite needy, sensitive people and, as we don't spend every second together, we thrive on needing each other's attention," Gareth explained.
Kym Marsh's co-star admitted jealousy is a part of their relationship – but they only get jealous of other people.
"I think that happens within every relationship. Jealousy finds its way.
"We get jealous of the time we spend with other people; it's not because we don't trust each other.
After returning from a very romantic break to Paris, the lovebirds also explained they had been thinking about their future together.
"When I do ask Faye to marry me, it’ll be a huge surprise to her," the Unchained Melody singer confessed.
"I know Faye likes surprises, so I probably wouldn’t do it at a time she’s expecting it!"
The Kate Connor actress also revealed they were "broody" and planning to start a family together – but not just yet.
She added: "We’re both broody as Gareth’s sisters have both just had babies and we’ve been holding them!
"We’re definitely going to get married and have babies, we’re just not quite there yet."
The pair turned heads as they took to the red carpet at the National Television Awards, earlier this year.
However, while Faye was awarded best newcomer for her Coronation Street role, Gareth had all eyes on him as he showed off a very deep tan.
But the 32 year old proved he had a sense of humour as he made fun of the beauty mishap.
Taking to Twitter, the Footloose star shared a hilarious ‘winner’s rap’ with his 95.3k followers.
Congratulating his girlfriend of four years, while they lay in bed together, he ‘rapped’: “This is my lady, Faye, and she is the winner of the NTA.
“She won best newcomer walking down the [cup], and she looked like a stunner. No baby, you really did. I was like [growls]. You were so special.”
The actress replied: “I have no make up on right now, I’m going to sleep.”
Joking about his fake-tan disaster, he said: “Well I haven plenty of make-up on, so don’t worry about it.”
He finished the tribute off by letting Faye know exactly how he felt about her award win.
“Baby I’m so proud of you, and I know millions of people out there are proud of you. You smashed it tonight.”

Merry Christmas Everyone!

I'd like to take this opportunity to wish Faye and all our readers a very Merry Christmas!
Faye Brookes, who plays knicker factory worker Kate, says there is trouble ahead for the Weatherfield clan.
The Coronation Street star explains: “Of course there will be drama kicking off on the Street at Christmas – it’s Corrie!
“There are lots of question marks hanging in the air for Aidan as his affair with Maria comes to a head.
“She’s facing Christmas in prison so Aidan has to decide if he goes with his heart and picks Maria, or his head and stays with Eva.
“Either way, one girl will be left disappointed.
“There’s also Toyah Battersby coming back on Christmas Day – and she holds secrets about her return.”
Elsewhere on the Street, Bethany Platt resorts to diet pills again on Christmas Eve while Nick and Peter brawl as tensions run high on Christmas Day.
Faye reveals: “Both Christmas and the show are about family and those relationships which sometimes aren’t easy.
“And what I can say from the bottom of my heart is that Corrie does have heart and that’s never going to go away.
“The heart in the show has made it stand the test of time.”
And after a troubled year finding her place on the Street and breaking away from crazy ex Caz Hammond, Faye says 2017 will be a new start for her character.
She reveals: “There’s something going on for all of us though. Kate doesn’t have a very fulfilled Christmas, so we are planning a new year and new Kate for 2017.
“The New Year is her time to really show who she is. She doesn’t have to just be a fun lesbian – what if she has a real dark side?”
Faye says she met the new Corrie producer earlier in the year to plot Kate’s story unfolding.
“What was amazing about Kate Oates was that she took us aside to talk about our characters,” she says.
“And I said to her: ‘Look I am Carla Conner’s sister so sock it to me – give me some of those incredible storylines and high drama. I’m ready for it.’
“The Connor family are a massive family tree and there’s loads that they can do with us.
“I love being in Corrie. I was so overwhelmed when I got the call to say I would be a brand new Connor. I am from Manchester and have watched it for so long.
“What I love about Kate is that she isn’t what you’d think she’d be like. She’s a bit bohemian and she’s quite cool – the absolute opposite of me.
“She’s headstrong and while she’s close to her family she has a fiery side, we all do! She is opinionated and isn’t afraid to say what she thinks.

Festive Fun at Manchester Cathedral
On 15th December Faye will be singing Christmas Carols at Manchester Cathedral.
It's an annual event which helps raise money for Manchester Children's Hospital so your entrance fee - £12 Adult / £6 Children - will go to a very good cause.

The Chase Celebrity Special
Unfortunately she was caught by the Vixen but showed her usual drive and ambition by going for the higher offer of £60k.
Faye has always reached for the stars & normally achieves her goals but you need a bit of luck with the questions on a show like The Chase and on this occasion it wasn't to be.
However, it was lovely to see the real Faye on TV as opposed to her Corrie character Kate Connor and it reminded me what a truly lovely person she is.
She might not have won the money but she looked a vision of beauty as you can see from these screen caps taken by one of her fans on Twitter.
